Overview

The CBSE curriculum, taught in small classes.

Silver Oak follows the NCERT curriculum and the CBSE scheme of studies across all classes, from Bal Vatika through Class XII. Skill subjects are offered from Class VI in line with NEP 2020 and the CBSE skill-education mandate.

Curriculum by stage

One curriculum, five stages.

Bal Vatika · ages 3 to 5

Pre-Primary

Play-based learning, phonics, number readiness, and two languages, with 20 children to a class.

Classes I to V

Primary

English, Hindi, Marathi, Mathematics, EVS, Computer, Art, Music, and Sport, activity-based throughout.

Classes VI to VIII

Middle

Science, Social Science, three languages, Mathematics, and skill subjects including coding.

Classes IX to X

Secondary

The full CBSE Class IX-X scheme with board examinations at the end of Class X.

Classes XI to XII

Senior Secondary

Science, Commerce, and Humanities streams with board examinations at the end of Class XII.

Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology, with Computer Science or Physical Education as the optional.

Commerce

Accountancy, Business Studies, and Economics, with Mathematics or Informatics Practices optional.

Humanities

History, Political Science, Economics, and Psychology or Geography.

Subjects, assessment & grading

How learning is measured.

Subjects offered

Languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Sanskrit. Sciences and Mathematics through Class X, then by stream. Skill subjects from Class VI: Artificial Intelligence, Coding, and Financial Literacy.

Assessment pattern

Assessment follows the CBSE pattern: periodic tests, a half-yearly and an annual examination, plus internal assessment for practical and skill subjects. Board examinations are held for Classes X and XII.

Grading system

Classes I to VIII use the CBSE grading scale A1 to E; Classes IX to XII follow the CBSE marks-and-grades scheme. Report cards are issued three times a year with a parent meeting.
